The Prometheia festival is the top event highlighting the ancient Greek spirit. Inspired and realised by the Stockholm University Professor of Philosophy, dr. Tryphon Olympios, it has now gained the status of a pan-Hellenic institution, as it now enters their 29th year of continuous presence.

A multitude of visitors from Greece and abroad gather every year at the fabulous natural surroundings of the Prometheus Grove (Alsos Prometheus) at the foot of Mount Olympus to exchange opinions, honour the ancient philosophers, to breathe the refreshing air of the countryside, to camp setting their tents and many of them to spend the night talking and stargazing on the Mountain of the Gods. Reviving ancient Greek procession on the streets of the village Litochoron (Friday, the second day of the festival) and of course, to get initiated to our ancestral spirit by watching the events of the Promethean drama and the Promethean fire that have been the cornerstone of the Greek worldview and the Greek culture.

The next day in the afternoon and evening (Saturday, the third day of the festival), amidst the lush natural environment of Mountain of the Gods, presented representation of historic events and ancient Greek ceremonies, that cause contrition and devoutness. These events attract thousands of visitors due to the deep emotional and mystical atmosphere that cause. Following the main event is a Dionysian celebration until late in the night. On Sunday morning (day four of the festival) cleansing, names-giving and marital ceremonies take place, according to the rituals of the Greek pre-Christian tradition.

In 2024, the celebrations will take place on 4, 5, 6, 7 July. During these four-day events, representatives of organisations or individuals from every corner of the world, who consider themselves to be spiritual descendants of the Greek culture and the Greek civilization, are welcome. It will be our pleasure if you honour these events with your presence.

In every case, let this invitation be the initiative for a further acquaintance and strengthening of our relationships, of all those who are interested in the re-association of the modern world and of mankind to the values, the culture and the ethos that the Greek philosophy and worldview represented.

A re-association that is necessary, we believe, for the creation of a future society based on virtue and knowledge, and for a universal Human, one of freedom, one of creation and one that honours our species.
