The Story Behind Experience Pieria
Hi, I’m Yorgos Gizeis.
I was born and raised in Athens and came to Litochoro,
at the foot of Mount Olympus, in 2013.
What began as a personal connection with this place gradually
became something more: a continuous journey of discovering Pieria
through its landscapes, people, food, traditions and everyday life.
Through photography, video, television and digital storytelling,
I have spent years documenting moments and experiences across the region.
Some are spectacular.
Others are quiet and almost invisible.
Often, it is the quieter stories that stay with you.
ExperiencePieria.info grew from that perspective.
It is my way of sharing the Pieria I have come to know —
not as a visitor passing through, but through years of living,
exploring, observing and creating here.
The platform continues to evolve, but the idea remains the same:
to discover what makes this part of Greece worth experiencing
and to tell those stories with honesty, curiosity and care.
