Imagine this: A warm summer night, the gentle breeze carrying the scent of grapes, and the rhythmic beats of a DJ set filling the air. Surrounded by lush vineyards and with the majestic Olympus mountain as a backdrop,
I was recently invited to the most unforgettable experience at a party hosted by Oraia Gi Winery in Pieria, Greece.
On Saturday, September 14th, 2024, I found myself transported to a magical setting just outside Kato Milia. The party was held at one of the winery’s nearby vineyards, nestled in the heart of the Pierian mountains. The picturesque setting provided the perfect backdrop for an evening of food, wine, and dancing.
As I arrived, I was greeted with a glass of the award-winning Assyrtiko “Two Oaks”, a dry white wine with a distinctive lemon-green hue and vibrant acidity. With the breathtaking view of Mount Olympus and the fiery sunset casting its glow, it truly felt as if the gods were watching over our grape harvest celebration.
The night unfolded with a delicious BBQ feast, great conversations with fellow wine lovers, and a DJ set that kept everyone dancing until sunrise. Some guests stayed by the fire until dawn, watching the Aegean sunrise light up Olympus – an experience every romantic soul should have at least once.
Starting next year, Oraia Gi Winery will host similar vineyard parties every two weeks during the harvest season. This is your chance to be part of an authentic Trygos (grape harvest) celebration in Pieria, combining wine, food, music, and community spirit.
Pro tip: These events have limited capacity – secure your spot early for the next one, and experience a night you’ll talk about for years.
We are already planning to bring more travelers and locals together for the next event, as part of ExperiencePieria.info-powered activities.
